Samsung has announced the latest cellular in-house chipset, Exynos 2200, which is expected to power the upcoming Galaxy Flagship smartphone.
Exynos 2200 is the first-on-a-chip system to display AMD RDNA 2 graphics architecture along with the Samsung Xclipse graphics processing unit.
This chipset is built in the process of 4NM EUV (extreme extreme extreme extreme) combined with an enhanced Nerve processing unit (NPU) and GPU.
Samsung said that the new chipset aims to redefine cellular gaming experiences with increased graphics and AI performance.
Samsung Exynos 2200: CPU Detailson front CPU, Exynos 2200 uses the latest Armv9 core.
This is an octa-core setting which includes four efficient four-core-A510 cores, three cortex-A710 cores and one high-performance x2 cortex core.
The CPU is also equipped with an updated NPU.
The company claims that the Exynos 2200 displays a double NPU performance compared to its predecessor, exynos 2100, to offer better calculations and AI performance.
NPUs now offer far higher precision with support FP16 (16bit floating point) in addition to int8 power saving (8 bits integer) and int16.
Exynos 2200 is also equipped with a 16G fast 3GPP release modem that supports the sub-6GHz and MMwave (millimeter wave) band.
It also supports new e-urban dual radio connectivity which allows it to use 4G LTE and 5G NR signals to offer speeds of up to 10Gbps.
Samsung Exynos 2200: GPU Details already mentioned, Exynos 2200 is the first chip to display AMD RDNA 2 architecture with Xclipse GPU Architecture RDNA 2 AMD allows this chipset to offer PC graphics performance and console with accelerated tracing ray (RT) and shade variable rates (RT) VRS) which was previously only available on PCs, laptops and consoles.
Samsung Exynos 2200: Details The latest exynos chip comes with a redesigned image signal processor (ISP) and now supports the latest image sensors to 200MP.
ISP also supports 108MP sensors at 30fps in single camera mode.
64MP + 36MP in dual camera mode.
The chipset can handle up to seven image sensors and run four of them simultaneously.
For video recording, the ISP supports HDR resolution (or 8k) 4K.
