Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 receives BIS certification, India launch expected soon

NEW DELHI: Consumer electronics giant Samsung is expected to launch its next generation foldable smartphones — Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 2 in August.
The company is expected to launch the smartphones on August 3 at its next Galaxy Unpacked event.
A recent online report suggested that both the smartphones will go on sale starting August 27.
Now, it appears that Samsung might launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in India at the same time.
Popular tipster Mukul Sharma of Stufflistings has revealed that the yet-to-launch Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has received BIS certification.
This means that Samsung will launch the smartphone in India soon.
Presently, it is not clear as to when the company will launch the smartphone.
Another online report revealed that the company has already started mass production of the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
Samsung is reportedly manufacturing 50,000 to 70,000 units of foldable smartphones each day.
The report also claims that Samsung is looking to manufacture a total of 7 million units of the two foldable smartphones.
Another report by Dialyan suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to cost KRW 1.9 million (Rs 1,24,391), while the Galaxy Flip 3 is said to cost KRW 1.3 million (Rs 85,102).
It is interesting to note that only Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has received BIS certification and not Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3.
So, there are chances that the company might not launch both the foldable smartphones together in India.
Along with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, the company is also expected to launch an improved hybrid S Pen.
The new S Pen will be designed to work on an ultra thin glass display without causing any damage.
