At CES 2022, Samsung demonstrates several new folding display concepts including multiple folding smartphones and folding laptops.
Now, the company has reportedly received a patent for a new type of folding laptop.
According to a report by Sammobile, the Korean giant has received a patent for convertible laptops with a removable folding display.
The next report revealed that the recent design was approved and published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
According to the report, the unique type of laptop from Samsung has two main components such as other conversion laptops – the basic screen and keyboard.
What makes this device unique than the removable folding display is a keyboard base that is capable of splitting half.
According to the report, each part of the keyboard has its own battery and input circuit.
In addition, it also revealed that only half of the keyboard hiding the processor and microcontroller.
This report shows that the conversion area of the device can be very small when folded and separate which will make it compact and easy to carry.
The top can be used as a large folding tablet.
The company has not yet officially revealed information about these devices but the application provides instructions on products that can be explored by technology giants.
Patents submitted by technology companies to always reach the actual product and if Samsung plans to launch a convertible laptop with a removable folding screen, it may take several years.
The company is reported to be preparing to launch the Samsung Galaxy S22 series along with the latest exynos chipset on the Galaxy Unpacked 2022 next month.
The upcoming lineup is rumored to have three devices – Samsung Galaxy S22, Samsung Galaxy S22 + and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
