Chennai: The Trade Union Government on Tuesday approved Rs 27.5 Crore as a central aid to pay a wage under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rustic Rural Guarantee Law (MGNREGA).
The number is the first installment of the second stage of the funds to the wage component (Category ST) for the financial year of 2021-22, a letter from Deputy Secretary (Mahatma Gandhi Nrara) from the Trade Union Government, which has been received by the Ministry of Finance and Rural Development of the State, said.
This amount will be released every day and must be used to remove the delayed obligation first, the letter shows.
Development came after the head of Minister M K Stalin attracted the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday by mail and looking for his intervention to release 1,178 crores under MGNREGA.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Compatibility for Fisheries, Livestock and Preparation, Information and Broadcasting L Murugan on Wednesday said the Chairperson of Minister Stalin pampered himself in cheap politics by shooting a letter to the Prime Minister, knowing very well the center of Tamil Nadu was convincing on the funds to be allocated.
The central government gave a sanction of RS 1,361 Crore under the National Rural Rural Guarantee Act Scheme of Mahatma Gandhi for Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, said Murugan.
The Union Minister told reporters that the center had sanctioned more funds than the country requested.
He denied that there was a delay in the allocation of funds and said Letters CM was sent intentionally to do cheap politics and show a bad center of light.
Stalin, in the letter, said that the entire number of RS 3,524.3 Crore released by the Union Government to TN in 2021-22 was fully credited in worker accounts until September 15.
“Since then, there have been no further funds released for wages.
By the trade union government, which has led to the obligation of Rs 1178.1 Crore wages until November 1,” CM said in the letter.
The Minister of Rural Development of the State of State of Cyakaruppan called for the Minister of Rural Development of the United States last week and asked him to release delayed funds.
“The Union Minister assured him that funds would be released in one week and the promise was stored.
However, the Government of TN created unnecessary controversy, only with a view to tarnishing the central image,” Murugan said.
This center has allocated Rs 6,255 Crore to TN under this fiscal mgnrega, he said.
Although 2,500 days the men are allocated to Tamil Nadu under the scheme, the TN government only utilizes 2,190 days of lakh human days, he said and asked the state government to implement schemes efficiently and transparently.
He said the scheme must be subject to a social audit according to the guidelines.
The state government does not hold on to norms, he said.
The minister said irregularities in the RS 246 crore tone had occurred while implementing a scheme in Tamil Nadu.
However, the state government has taken RS1.8 Crore until now, he said.
