JAIPUR: The state authorities on Wednesday let three big leaseholders to mine sand in the riverbeds of Luni and Banas. The move will improve accessibility to sand at the country and assess illegal mining. After almost three-and-a-half-years, three leaseholders are permitted to purify sand in Kotadi (Bhilwara), Jalore and Syala (Jalore). There 82 big rental holders for sand mining from the country. “Following the conclusion of this replenishment analysis, the rescue holders had obtained environmental clearance (EC) on October 16, 2020. It had been decided to permit these big operators to mine sand,” an official with the mining division stated. On November 16, 2017, the Supreme Court had controlled 82 rent holders in the country by mining sand and bajri. Ever since that time, lots of private and infrastructure housing projects have arrived at a standstill. Consumers were buying sand after having an exorbitant cost. “Ultimately, folks and people related to the commerce may heave a sigh of relief. The sand mafia was excavating bajri and promoting it in greater prices, hitting both valid dealers and residents. We value the movement and invite the authorities for restarting the procedure in a lawful fashion,” said Naveen Sharma, president, All Of Rajasthan Bajri Truck Operators Welfare Society. According to officers, the requirement of the residual 79 big leaseholders is pending at the Supreme court. Following the fundamental enabled committee (CEC) had advocated devoting environmental clearance (EC) to legitimate rental holders, then the hearing had been scheduled on April 15. But it’s been postponed following the next Covid-19 wave struck the country, a source explained. The CEC report had advocated MoEF to problem EC to each of legal lease holders advocated by the specialist evaluation committee (EAC) without defaulting to the entry of scientific analysis report for a precondition to grant EC in a span of 3 weeks. According to sourcesout of those 82 large rents, the EAC advocated 65. “The last nod is going to be provided from the Supreme Court,” said a source.
