Patna: Sand mining in the official Ghatis in the state will be continued on October 1, Minister of State Ministry and Geology Jan Ram said on Friday.
Speaking with reporters on the sidelines of the ‘Jansahyog’ BJP program in the party office, he said sand mining was still suspended for three months during the rainy season and it will continue on October 1.
“Illegal sand mining has been stopped after decisive action committed against several police and other officials,” he added.
It can be mentioned that two IPS officers among many other officials have been suspended recently because of their alleged Nexus with sand smugglers involved in mining and transportation from Sone River in six districts.
However, Janak claims that there is no scarcity of sand in the state for construction work.
Sand stock is sold at a price set by the government, he claims.
Responding to the query, he said sand is being supplied to the agency involved in the construction work allocated by the government.
“Sarkari can Mein Koi in Nahi Ho Rahi Hai,” he said.
Referring to the controversial demand from the caste-based census in the country, he said it was for the trade union government to make a last call on this issue.
Janak is part of the 10-party country delegation, which has met PM Narendra Modi in Delhi on August 23.
This delegation is led by cm nith kumar.
