London: Sanjay Bhandari dealer weapon, sought in India for taxaccuration and money laundering, told the court here on Thursday that he did not approve his extradition and his hearing continued for 13 days from February 21, 2022.
Bhandari (59), a citizen India, is the subject of two extradition requests, which runs 3,500 pages: one related to avoidance of income tax in India, and the other against money laundering.
Bhandari, who has a conditional guarantee, appears on the dock at the Westminster Hagistrates court wearing a face mask.
Ben Lloyd, representing the crown prosecution service, said: “He is an Indian population for tax purposes and has global income and is responsible for paying taxes in India.
He has a number of companies in India and abroad and earn a significant income outside India and Having overseas assets that are not disclosed to tax authorities in India.
The Indian government passed laws that said they were with assets that did not have too many opportunities to make declarations and, if they did it, they did not obey the law, but he did not.
Both extradition requests include a number of properties in places like the British Virgin Islands.
Documents are changed or falsified to give the impression of the properties not owned by it, when they are.
