Hyderabad: Sarpanch who is suspected of trying to establish functioners under the Mahatma National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS) burn differences with him about records relating to works in Telangana.
Ravula Raju’s technical assistant was hospitalized with 35% burns.
Musharraf Ali Faruqui District collector, who visited Raju at the hospital, said he would be given better medical care in Hyderabad.
He also said the action would begin with Sarpana according to the law.
The incident took place in Sawnli Village from Kubeer Mandal on July 13.
Sarpanch Sainat reportedly brought along a bottle of gasoline which was ready when he went to meet Ravulu Raju at the office of the working hour guarantee scheme (EGS).
He asked Raju to register gravel rolls.
Raju, however, refused to require Sarpana.
Prevent rejection, Sarpanch allegedly burned it after sprinkling gasoline to him.
Immediately after the incident, Sainath went to the police station and reportedly told the police that it was an accident and that he did not intend to burn Ravulu Raju.
He said he tried to burn paper.
The Head of the BJP District Unit Thalod Srinivas demanded firm action against Sarpan.
He accused that the Sarpanch belonged to the powerful TRS.
Police Bhainsa is investigating this case.
