Hyderabad: Sarpanch from Damasthapur Village in Vicarabad Regency was arrested on Wednesday on charges of kicking and beating villagers.
The video of Sarpanch K Jaipal Reddy’s incident attacked Srinivas to a viral on social media.
The police said Jaipal Reddy was arrested under the IPC section voluntarily caused wounds and criminal intimidation.
The police surprisingly added that the IPC section insulted the simplicity of a woman when ordering Sarpanch.
It all started on Tuesday when Jaipal Reddy (TRS) was involved in the argument that was heated in a local store with his cousin Krishna Reddy when Srinivas intervened.
Maripally the Venkata Srinu said Srinivas, who was drunk, suggested that Jaipal Reddy to focus on solving water problems in the village instead of arguing with his cousins.
