Salem: Opposition leader and coordinator with AIDMK Edappadi K Palaniswami on Monday said V K Sasikala will not succeed in damaging the leadership of AIDMK or troubling the party established and maintained by leaders such as M Gaj Ramachandran or J Jayalalithaa.
Palaniswami, who has chosen to ignore the Sasikala and its telephone diplomacy with AIADMK cadres after passing the resolution of him in the last month, told reporters in Salem that he “deliberately spread lies” in an effort to disrupt the party and create confusion.
But his efforts will not succeed, he said.
Reacting to Sasikala’s comments to cadres during a telephone conversation that if they were all together, AIADMK would not be defeated in the April Assembly election, Palaniswami Retorted: “Isn’t he in Aiadmk in 1996? (When the party was directed in the assembly election of the year).
Isn’t he on parties in 2006 too? (When the party lost the assembly election to DMK).
He deliberately spread lies.
But a lot of lies he spread, he could not defeat AIDMK.
“On June 17, Palaniswami was the first to continue the resolution of his former leader, condemn his efforts to take control.
The resolution that categorically states that Sasikala has nothing to do with AIDMK and that the party will not be sacrificed to fulfill the wishes of one family.
“He said he was an advisor to Mgr and Amma (Jayalalithaa).
It was ridiculous.
He spread Canard.
There is no one at the party who will believe this, said Palaniswami.
In a recent conversation with a party, Sasikala stated that he had suggested that he had suggested Jayalalithaa about the need to ensure the party’s unity when AIDMK was divided after the death of Mgr in December 1987.
In his phone call to cadres in Tuticorin, Sasikala said he had traveled with “Thaivar (Mgr)” which was not known by many people.

In a recent call to the AIADMK cadre, Sasikala explained that he decided to” retreat “from politics after returning from Bengaluru prison because he believed in EPS claims and the AIADMK coordinator o Panneerselvam that they will win 150 seats in the electoral election.
