T’puram: Opposition slammed the sluggish government approach in handling cases where a tribal youth, Madhu, was punished by a horde in attapadi.
The opposition leader VD Sathean said that prosecution could not continue with the case correctly because the years had passed.
“The government cannot appoint prosecutors.
Even though the mother and sister are threatened by those who are related to the perpetrators in this case, the police did not pay attention to this problem,” he said on Friday.
He said that while the government had spent lakh from public hoarding to save the perpetrators in the case of a periya double murder, it did not bother carrying out the case of poor tribal youth, who was killed by stealing food, correctly.
Too bad in the state, he said.
