Thiruvananthapuram: Oppo Leader V D Satheesan slams the government to take action against officials who provide file details from the income department regarding illegal logging in the right to information law.
In the meeting program-the-press here on Wednesday, the opposition leader asked whether it was the rules of the Stalinist model in the state under the minister of Pinarayi Vijayan, who took action against officials who had parted with RTI information.
He said that the RTI Act had been passed by the parliament, and when the question under the action was asked, officials were in charge of answering it.
He said that the government did not have the power to take action against officials in this regard.
Such a move is threatening officials that if there is information about corruption in the LDF government coming out, they must face the consequences, he added.
Sathean said that the documents that prove that the Minister of Revenue Minister E Chandrasyharan was behind the illegal tree logging order came out, but the minister’s chairman had not taken any action.
Sathean said that there was a lack of transparency regarding the reporting of Covid-19 death in the state.
The state government recorded the death of Covid-19 who violated the ICMR guidelines.
He said that the government had to revise a full list of deaths because of Covid-19 since the first wave, based on the ICMR guidelines.
He said that the government had hidden their names that lost their lives because of Covid-19 since December last year.
He asked if it was some secret agenda to hide legitimate data like that.
Sathean said that the case of Hawala Kodakara Money and the case of gold smuggling only walked at a slut speed.
All of these cases move towards where this will be compromised and settled between CPM and BJP, alleged Satheani.
