Satwikaraj and Chirag rose to 8 ranked BWF after Win Open India

New Delhi: Twice Olympic Medal of the Sindhu PV and former world number one Kidambi Srikanth remains static in the latest badminton world ranking but the men’s doubles duo Satwikarajdy and Chirag Shetty moved two places to eight after their victory in India.
Former Sindhu world champion maintained his seventh position with 90994 in the female ranked while Srikanth remained in 10th place with 69158 points in the men’s graph.
Tai Tong Taipei China led a woman’s rank with 108800 points while governing the Victor Axelsen Olympic champion heading a list of men with 116779 points.
From the Indian perspective, the largest enhancer was a double a pair of Indian satwotijaj and chirag, which jumped from the tenth to eight places with 76708 points in the latest ranking incurred by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).
They beat the leading top Indonesian couple Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan 21-16, 26-24 to win the men’s double crown in Yonex-Sunrise India Open on Sunday.
Starting the match with a 1-3 head-to-head record, Satwik and Chirag came out of the brave efforts against the Indonesian pair and saved the Fightback to rule the highest in the final.
Satwik and Chirag have won the Thai Open Super 500 title in 2019, in addition to reaching the French Open Super 750 final in the same year.
No Indians are shown in the daughter’s doubles and mixed doubles.
