Patna: Some schools in the city may have continued offline classes with full capacity, but health experts advise them to ensure that students maintain distance, wear masks, keep their hands clean, and remain at home if they feel sick.
This, they said, would help keep the third wave of pandemic in the bay.
Dr.
Nigam Prakash Narain, a pediatrician, urged everyone to adopt the appropriate behavior of Covid, which included the right sanitation and social distance, in the school.
“Covid cases among children rose at alarming level after school reopened in the US recently.
Therefore, educational institutions in Bihar must instruct children with symptoms such as cold, fever or cough to remain in home and immediately contact the doctor, “said Dr.
Narain.
He added, “Only a large number of students must be allowed in class.” Another pediatrician, Dr.
Arun Shah, asked all school principals to think of ways to protect children from Covid-19 during the offline class.
“Parents must ensure that their children wear masks correctly so their mouths and noses are closed.
They also have to ensure that all adults in their families get themselves vaccinated and not transferring infections to children,” he said.
Doctors also urge all schools to make their faculty members and staff who do not teach fully inoculated.
People, who are not vaccinated, should not be allowed to enter any school because they can spread Covid-19 infections among children.
People who are vaccinated, on the other hand, have a very low chance to transmit viruses.
However, Dr.
Shah claims that children may not experience severe illness because Covid-19.
“The immune system of children seems more ready to remove viruses than adults.
They can only develop mild symptoms,” he added.
Additional professors at the All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences-Patna, Dr.
Chandra Mohan Kumar, also advised children to take two important safety protocols – SanitiSation and social blasphemy – to stop transmission of viruses.
“We may not witness a massive surge in the number of fresh covid cases as long as possible the third wave of pandemic if everyone survives with this guideline,” he said.
