Save the Close tab on virtual campaign expenditures by candidates, CEC tells the question observer

New Delhi: With the Covid situation currently forcing parties and candidates to focus on campaign digital mode in a five-state poll, Sushil Chandra’s main electoral commissioner on Friday directing electoral observers to keep tabs close to the expenditure on candidates about the campaign in addition to monitoring compliance Covid safety norms by political party leaders and candidates and mark every violation for the necessary actions.
The source said the EC would issue a set of revised guidelines for observers to monitor expenses for digital forms of campaign by candidates.
The norms, the possibility of going out on Saturday, will put down how digital campaigns must be accounted for and calculated by register managed by candidates, at the end of the campaign that day.

Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said observers played a cardinal role in the implementation of elections and thus needed to be accessible and seen by voters, candidates, and political parties to personally attend their advice & complaints.
He warned observers that they were always under strict and microscopic supervision and thus must be careful and wisely about their own behavior during the election process.
Commissioner of the Election of Anup Chandra Pandey, highlighting the increase in the role of virtual campaigns at the moment, said the need to reduce the wrong information and hate social media campaigns.
