JAMSHEDPUR: The State Bank of India (SBI) has held a strategic partnership with JAMSHEDPUR FOOTBALL CLUB (JFC) owned by Tata Steel to support and promote sports in this country.
The bank signed an agreement with JFC in Mumbai on Monday in front of high-ranking officials from two brands.
With this partnership, the first major business by the largest lender in the country, SBI will be one of JFC’s main sponsors.
“There was a quick step in Indian football over the past decade, especially with the appearance of the Indian Super League.
Tata Steel has been at the forefront of promoting football and has continued to produce players champions over the past three decades through the Football Academy, JFC one step ahead of that direction.
This partnership will help us to promote sports and more specifically football, “said MD, SBI, Ashwani Bhatia, about the signing of the agreement in the press communike issued by the JFC on Tuesday.
He added that JFC has the potential to become one of the top clubs in Asia and the world.
CEO and MD, Tata Steel, T V Narendran, who attended the signing function of the agreement said that the partnership would be a satisfying association in the coming years.
“I am sure that this partnership will help create great value for JFC, including their senior team, youth programs and grassroots,” Narendran said.
With the agreement that appears, JFC Match Jersey will now display the SBI logo.
A JFC high-ranking officials told anonymity that the Partnership Agreement was a Multicrore agreement carried out for the upcoming season (2021-22) but in all possible partnerships will exceed the upcoming season.
JFC Chairman, Chanakya Chaudhary, also VP (Corporate Service), said Tata Steel, “Our association with SBI is very encouraging because we aim to achieve success and turn off the field.”
