Mumbai: The tracking dog and information from a 10-year-old girl helped the police broke the robbery at the Dahecar State Bank from India within 12 hours after the crime on Thursday.
Contractual staff, Sandesh Gomane, had been shot dead.
The investigator arrested Dharmendra’s cousin Yadav, 21, and Vikas Yadav, 19, who had prepared theft for months by studying internet videos.
Most stolen money has been restored.
The accusation had told the police that they intended to scare bank employees by shooting, but had not planned to kill anyone.
At 3:26 a.m.
on Wednesday, the two men walked to the SBI branch which was not kept in Society Gurukul, less than one kilometer from the Dahecar station.
When Gomane stood up, one of the people shot him on the chest.
Gomane slumped in the chair when the men went threatening other employees – most of them women – and looted Rs 2.50 lakh from the cashier’s desk.
All heist happened in just two minutes and the robbers fled on foot.
From the recording of supervision, the researchers gathered robbers tended to become amateurs.
Finally, a 10-year-old girl told one of the investigators that she had seen a man rushed home to change.
“We knocked down the door to find Dharmendra asleep.
He was detained, from where YT Road,” said Sub-Inspector Hinde.
He led the police to Vikas in Rawal on, also in Dahisar.
It turned out that Dharmendra’s father had spilled debt by 4.5 lakh Rs and needed money to pay off contributions.
However, he was not aware of his son’s plan, police said.
“Dharmendra has studied until class XII and worked as a catering.
Vikas moved to Mumbai from their hometown in Bhadohi up earlier this year,” said an officer.
For several months, both cousins made preparations to loot banks.
They check your tube videos and buy masks and gloves.
About four months ago, they got a gun from Bihar to their hometown where they practiced using weapons.
Dharmendra emptied his savings to pay Rs 40000 for a gun.
They then took him to Mumbai.
Men studied several banks located in Dahisar, looking for easy targets.
Earlier this week, they settled in the SBI branch because of its proximity to the FOB and train station, the absence of security guards and how close they were from their homes.
“After robbery, the duo walked home in seven minutes.
They plan to leave the city the next day but arrested before they did it,” said an officer.
The defendant did not have a previous criminal history.
The police have restored the number of Rs 2.05 lakh so far.
“We want to appeal to the bank to appoint security guards regardless of the branch size.
Having the SBI branch in Deferites to appoint a guard, the robbery can be avoided,” Padwal said.
