New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday directing all countries to ensure that children who have become orphans or loss of parents during the Covid-19 pandemic since March last year were permitted to continue in the same school, at least for that current academic year.
The APEX court, hearing Suo Motu’s problem on Covid-19 transmission at the Children’s Protection House, said that in the order of June 7 it had asked the state and region Union (UTS) to ensure that there was no rest in children’s education like that in private and government schools.

You have managed to throw your votelogin to see results “with the cost of repetition, we direct the state government to ensure that orphans are permitted to continue in the same school at least for this academic year, both private school or government,” said the bench consisting of Judge L Nageswara Rao and Aniruddha Bose.
The court was over the direction after advocating for Gaurav Agrawal, who helped it as Amicus Curiae in this matter, raises concerns about the education of children.
The bench noted that Amicus has referred to the information provided by countries, especially one situation in which nearly 40 percent of orphans studied in private schools.
The Apex Court said in case, there were difficulties in students who were allowed to continue their education in private schools, they could be accommodated in environmental schools under the right of education.
“The state government will also provide information relating to students who have been accommodated in private schools and government schools,” Bench said, asked the state to submit a status report on this issue.
The court has posted this problem to hear further on August 26.
In the order of June 7, the APEX court has directed the country and UTS to make provisions for the continuation of children’s education both in government and private schools.
The National Commission for Children’s Rights Protection (NCPCR) has last month told the bench that as many as 30,071 orphans, lost parents or mostly due to the pandemic in accordance with the data provided by the ‘Bal Portal Swaraj to June 5.
NCPCR has given a separation in a written statement that says there are 3,621 orphans, 26,176 children who have lost one parent and 274 children who have been abandoned.
The APEX court also directs the country and UTS to take “strict action” to NGOs and individuals who spoil the illegal adoption of orphans during a pandemic.
This has previously passed many directions for the care and protection of children who have become orphans or lose one parent or abandoned during a pandemic.
