New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday refused to comfort the defense that was looking for a probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the alleged “Toolkit” Congress and cancellation as a political party.
“If you don’t like the toolkit, just ignore it,” said Justice Chandrachud to the petitioner and his advocate Shashank Shekhar Jha.
JHA was sent before the bench that there was propaganda to use the term “Indian variant” for the Covid-19 mutant.
He noted that Singapore objected to using the term “Singapore variant”.
The bench consisting of Judge D Y Chandrachud and M R Shah responded to Jha who said “India is democracy, you know”.
Further benches said that the valuable time of the Supreme Court was being taken by ‘reckless petitions’.
After hearing briefly, JHHE agreed to pull the petition with Liberty to pursue alternative medicine.
In May, Party Bharatiya Janata (BJP) has accused the Congress Party to create a ‘toolkit’ which aims to tarnish the image of the country and Prime Minister Narendra Modi by referring to the new strain of Coronavirus as “India Strain” or “Modi” or “strain”.
Meanwhile, the Congress has denied making such a toolkit and accusing BJP to create ‘fake toolkits’.
The party said that the research wing made a toolkit on the Vista Center project used by BJP for propaganda.
