New Delhi: Observing that the use of ‘Toolkit’ for political propaganda cannot be banned in a democratic country such as India, the Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain pills looking for probes against the Congress Party and its deregistration for allegedly making pictures to defame Prime Minister Narendra Modi handling covid pandemic.
Hakim bench D y Chandrachud and M R Shah, at the beginning of hearing, requesting the PIL PILP PILS to ignore such a toolkit if he did not like it but the court could not pass public orders to forbid it.
However, the Petitioners of Advocates Shashank Shekhar Jha, however, argue that the toolkit has been banned in many countries including Singapore.
The next bench reminded him that India was a democratic country and it could not be done in democracy.
The court said that if using a toolkit resulted in any legal violations, the cure lies under criminal law and the court cannot provide order in the court pill also observed that the court time was valuable wasted in the public and refused to entertain the petition.
The court, however, allowed him to attract a petition to approach the High Court.
The applicant was looking for a probe into controversy by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and also requested the court to hold people from using photographs of corpses and covid victims’ funerals.
He also looked for SC intervention to stop “describing anti-national attitudes including the use of funeral photos and corpses, mutant naming after India and Indian Prime Minister and calling one religion for Covid-19” he said in his petition saying that the toolkit material must be examined To express any violations under Section 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and various other parts of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) and Section 13 of the Law (UPA) activities, and to secure the Toolkit prisoners.
