Chennai: Chennai: A former faculty member accused the senior in the Ministry of Humanities and the Iit-Madras Social Sciences from the ongoing special recruitment drive to fill in 49 jobs in the Category SC, ST, OBC and EWS by changing the parameters recommended by field experts.
IIT-Madras rejected the accusation as “many”.
When experts from the department recommend the recruitment of the faculty for ‘Dalit Studies’, the institution advertised for the faculty in ‘Indian writing in English’, said Vipin P Veetil in his complaint to the education minister Union Dharmendra Pradhan.
Veetilhad stopped as a faculty member in IIT-M in January quoted caste discrimination.
“A total of six faculties, the Director of the IIT-Madras Bhaskar Ramamurthi in November 2021 against changing the ‘Dalit Study’ and against narrowing the specialization,” Vetil said to Ti, added that he had a copy of the e-mail submitted by faculty members who opposed change.
