Thiruvananthapuram: The State Commission for the scheduled caste and the scheduled tribe has registered a case in alleged suicide from young girls in tribal settlements in Vithura and the coing.
The Commission has registered a case of Suo Motu based on media reports regarding a series of suicides reported in the recent tribal area.
The Commission has also directed the district collector, district police chief (rural) and director of the tribal development department scheduled to submit reports on this problem in an urgent way.
District collectors are also directed to take immediate steps to overcome this problem and prevent suicide in the future.
On Tuesday opposition leader V D Sathean visited the tribal settlement colony where suicide was reported and met with a leafy family.
He said that the state government must show the responsibility to pay compensation to five families who died.
Five suicides were reported in the last two months.
There has been a criminal delay from the government part in taking the necessary actions.
This shows that the government department concerned is not functioning properly here.
The young man in the tribal colony was trapped by the drug mafia.
Outside people with shade background often visit the colony here.
Youth and women were reported in the grip of this mafia.
The police must do a thorough probe into this problem.
The probe is currently announced by the government only peripheral, said Sathean.
