SC to set a high-level committee to investigate security deviations during Punjab PM visit

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday established a high-level committee to investigate the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Ferozepur, Punjab.
The panel will be led by the retired Supreme Court Judge.
The APEX court also proposed to include the DGP Chandigarh, IG National Investigation Agency, the Registrar General of the Punjab High Court and Haryana, and ADGP (Security) Punjab, in the Independent Committee.
During hearing, the Supreme Court told the center that showing notifications issued by Punjab officials was contradictory self.
Public lawyer Tushar Mehta, appeared for the center, told the Supreme Court that the basis of the show the cause was that according to the rules of DG and intelligence officials were responsible for security violations and no disputes about this.
There is no pre-warning about the blockade, he added.
Plea accused the security violations of the Prime Minister was an intentional hose in part of the state government and decisive action must be taken against the “wrong” official of the Punjab government.
“Yes there is a violation and the Punjab government also acknowledged.
The question is if the investigation is held, what will be the scope.
If you want to take disciplinary action on what officers remain to be considered by this court?” The Supreme Court said.
The Supreme Court heard the request to find a probe monitored by the court into the security violations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Punjab last week.
Plea accused the security violations of the Prime Minister was an intentional hose in part of the state government and decisive action must be taken against the “wrong” official of the Punjab government.
PM stuck on the flyover near Piarreana Village on the Moga-Ferozepur route because the blockade by farmers who participated in the #Modigoback campaign begins by agricultural groups demanding legal guarantees to MSP, among others.
He visited Punjab after a two-year gap since his last trip to projects cumulatively inaugurated worth 42,750 crore.
