New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday implemented Omnibus Powers under Article 142 of the Constitution to direct IIT-Bombay to recognize a Dalit Student from the interior at Uttar Pradesh within 48 hours after telling the troubles of boys in managing costs and authorities refuse to help he.
“If you do not recognize students like that, the IIT seat will be provided only for those from metropolitan cities,” Judicial bench D Y Chandrachud and a Bopanna.
It directs the institution to recognize students in the Four-Year Civil Engineering Btech course on or before Wednesday.
The court said many students from the interior could face difficulties in paying online fees due to the problem of internet connectivity but because of this, they could not seize their seats in these prestigious institutions.
Prince Jaibir Singh, studying in Allahabad, has fulfilled the requirements in the IIT-Jee (continued).
The boy had secured the rank of all India 25,864 and ranked 864 among successful caste candidates successfully.
He was then allocated a civil engineering seat on October 27.
The IIT-Bombay portal is open until 31 October for completion of online receipts, which include payment of fees, uploading documents, and candidate response to demand and other formalities.
On October 29, Jaibir entered the portal and uploaded the required documents.
Unfortunately, he could not pay a fee because of lack of funds.
He borrowed shortcomings from his sister on October 30.
He then made 10 to 12 attempts to complete the payment of fees but could not succeed due to technical errors on the portal.
On October 31, he made a similar effort from the cyber cafe, where a series of the same errors appeared.
He did not succeed in making a call to the receipt authority and then followed this by email to them from October 31 to November 1 again borrowed money to travel from Allahabad to Kharagpur – where the authority of the reception was centered.
The office in Kharagpur stated the inability to help him.
He then went to Mumbai and moved Bombay HC, looking for directions to the authorities concerned to admit it at IIT.
But, the High Court refused to cross such direction.
