Gurgaon: Haryana Water Resources Authority (HWRA) has directed industrial units and infrastructure companies to increase the use of recycled water or facial action.
But the total water recycling 263 months (million liters) available in this district, only 115 MLD which is currently used for horticulture, irrigation, agriculture and reservoir and forest development, said officials of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA).
Of this 115 MLD, each less than 10 MLD is used for construction purposes and by the textile industry.
At a late meeting on Sunday, Chairman of Hwra Keshni Anand Arora directed representatives from the industrial unit and the infrastructure sector to make “serious efforts” to use recycled water.
“Given the needs of future generations, it is very important to make efforts for this from now on.
Recycled water must be used, according to the rules, for construction activities and maintain the park and for other purposes.
Actions will be taken against anyone found to violate these rules, “Arora said.
According to GMDA officials, while it is mandatory for the industry to use more than 1,000 kiloliters of water processed per day in their process, the actual amount used by them, and builders for construction purposes, is very low.
This problem has also been swept by the development authority several times since last month.
In November, GMDA had taken problems during a meeting with DS D3, the main secretary of the Head of Minister of Manohar Minister Lal Khattar.
This problem was also discussed at the GMDA Core Planning Cell (CPC) meeting last week, where CEO Sudhir Rajpal had emphasized the need to use water treated to maintain a garden and green belt.
On Saturday, officials told Ti that from three parks under the water recycled GMDA used to maintain two through tankers, while pipes were placed to facilitate the maintenance of the third park – Tau Devi Lal Park.
In addition, GMDA also works to set hydrants in the green belt, which will also be recycled water sources.
