Ahmedabad: A pair of branded denim trousers in the cost of interior designer Vastrapur Rs 94,000, with cybercrooks sucking money with a malicious link.
He clicked on the link to get the shipping update, mention FIR filed with the Vastrapur police station on Saturday.
The victim was Apurva Munet, 25, a resident of Samruddhi Apartments, who came from Madhya Pradesh.
He has worked as a senior interior designer with a private company in Thaltej for the past two years.
He stated in his code that he had ordered a pair of denim pants on November 28 and another on November 29 of the leading Denim company shopping portal.
Munet said in his code that the couple he had commanded on November 28 was delivered on 3.
December but there were no signs of November 29.
On December 14, he looked for customer service numbers from the shipping company concerned.
He called the number and someone asked him for a tracking ID and confirmed that the package was with the shipping company.
He asked him if he could collect the package personally.
But the man insisted that their courier would make delivery.
The man told him to update his address by paying RS 3 using the link sent to him.
Following his instructions, he paid for money after that he received a confirmation message.
Then, the man called and asked for the preferred delivery time.
On December 14, around 8:30 a.m., he began to receive a message about the money deducted from two bank records related to the UPI payment application.
Overall, he finally lost Rs 94,000.
After realizing that he had been cheated, he approached the Vastrapur police and filed a complaint.
Information Technology Act has been called too.
