Thiruvananthapuram: The forest and wildlife departments have recommended the government to suspend forest and sajan conservators who are allegedly involved in a series of events connected with the fraud of the logging of muttil illegal trees.
Head of Principal Principal Principle has recommended the suspension of officers in his report submitted to the Head of Secretary V P Joy.
Chairman of the Pinarayi Minister Vijayan will receive a call about this issue.
Reports have found that officers try to mislead investigations and try to trap officials in this case.
Previously, the forest department had also provided reports on officers.
In the probe carried out by the head of the Forest Conservator (North Zone) D K Vinod Kumar, it was found that Sajan had tried to trap the Meppadi Range Officer, who had tried to stop carrying the trees that had been cut illegally.
Also, a Junior official had filed a complaint against Sajan to senior officials in this matter.
All of this is considered when recommending suspension of officers, studied.
Probe by a special investigation team, including officials from three departments and wildlife, crime and vigilance and anti-corruption bureau – progress in the case of illegal tree logging.
However, the minister’s chairman said that this problem had not yet reached the notice.
