Secunderabad: Even after a decade, the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) awaits the transfer of property tax (TPT) nearly Rs 60 Crore.
Rs 80 Crore, only RS 20 Crore has been gradually accepted so far and for the remaining number, officials have made the round of the State Finance Department.
Nearly half a dozen the state government office is within the canonary boundary.
About 9.5% of property registration fees collected by state governments in the Canton area must be transferred to SCB.
Every year, the state government should transfer around RS 8 Crore to SCB, however, the transfer amount has been delayed by the government.
“If the state government releases the delayed amount, we will spend it for civil works such as putting the CC road and building the retaining wall near the open nalas spread in 30 to 50 km,” said an official of the SCB engineering wing.
Other RS 600 Crore service fees from the Ministry of Defense (MOD) were also delayed, adding an official.
