Sydney: Schedule of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team for the upcoming Australia tour can be changed due to border restrictions and locking Covid-19 in Sydney and Melbourne, according to a media report.
India and Australia will fight with the three formats from next month.
The schedule includes three international people one day, as many as twenty20 internationally and a historic night test match at Ground Waca.
The series is scheduled to begin with the first ODI in Sydney on September 19, before moving to Melbourne and Perth.
“But the ongoing Covid-19 locking in Sydney and Melbourne and the closure of the state border made it impossible,” Cricket.co.au reported.
“The Australian Cricket is currently talking to the government authority about how, where and when seven matches can be played …
Announcement (is) that is estimated to be estimated with a change in the schedule of seven matches,” the report added.
The Australian Cricket said it monitors the situation.
“Because of the current Covid challenge, Cricket Australia will continue to monitor the situation right throughout the country and will consider whether it needs to make a decision or not to reschedule or move the match in time,” he said last week.
The Indian team is scheduled to go to Australia on Sunday.
All international arrivals must undergo quarantine two weeks, according to the Covid-19 protocol in Australia.
Australian players from New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria also need to be quarantined before the series if the match is scheduled for other circumstances.
Speaking last week, the Australian Skipper Meg Lanning said the players were ready to move at the time notice after the schedule was locked.
“Things change very quickly today.
To be honest, every player in yourself is ready to move points.” At this stage, we only plan on the schedule running as it exists and heads to the camp before it.
But we also have information that things have the potential to change very quickly, so we have to be ready for it, “he added.
