Mumbai: With the MSRTC driver and a strike conductor, the Yellow School Bus will be seen carrying passengers and operating as ‘public transport’ in all states from Wednesday morning.
The leaders of the Association of School Bus Owners (SBOA) said that as many as 1,000 school buses must serve passengers on the MSRTC route in the Mumbai Metropolitan area that extend to Virar, Kasara Kasara and Regency.
“Throughout Maharashtra, nearly 5,000 school buses will operate in villages, cities, and other cities affected by strikes,” said Anil Garg from SBoA.
School and private buses will collect approved rates for bus st.
These include Rs 10 for 0-4 km, Rs 15 for 4-6 km, Rs 20 for 6-10 km, Rs 25 for 10-18 km, Rs 30 for 18-26 km, 22-26 km, Rs 40 for 26-30 km and Rs 45 for 30 -34 km.
The Minister of Transportation of Anil Paratab said the problem faced by 92,000 MSRTC staff was as serious about the commuters.
“I will make sure the passengers are uncomfortable,” he said.
