School, college to remain closed in Delhi

New Delhi: Schools and Colleges will continue to be closed in the national capital and this problem will be taken at the next meeting Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), officials said on Thursday.
During the meeting, the Delhi Government, for its part recommended the reopening of the school that said it was necessary to prevent further damage to the social and economic welfare of children as a Covid-19 situation in the capital has increased.
“The issue of reopening the school will be taken at the next meeting of DDMA,” said a senior official.
By asserting that online education will never be able to replace class studies, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said the government had closed the school when it was not safe for children, but “carefully” harm them.
The delegation of the parents led by Chandrakant Lahariya, an epidemiologist and public policy specialist, previously met Sisodia and filed a memorandum signed by more than 1,600 parents who demanded that the school be reopened.
Even though schools were reopened, they were closed again on December 28 last year given the third wave of Covid-19 driven by the Omicron variant.
“Today’s decision is very disappointing.
The Chairperson of DDMA (Lieutenant Governor) and members must openly reveal the reason to keep the school closed but allow everything else, especially when every expert body recommends it,” said Agarwal asked, a lawyer who has been vocal.
About the reopening of the school.
Alka Lime, Principal, Modern Public School, “eighty-five percent of students vaccinated and encouragement to vaccinate children from other age groups scheduled to begin in April.
With adequate precautions, I do not need any problems if we continue and Open school now.
“There is a big difference between the learning class and online class.
Education is not only about gathering information but also about interactivity, social interaction, and direct learning; Something can only be provided for classroom settings.
In addition, the use of this prolonged online education may have a detrimental impact on students in the long run due to lack of social interaction and students …
can cause changes to behavior and learning anxiety, “he added.
