School fees are cut 15 percent in Maha

Mumbai: In an effort to provide assistance to students and parents, the state government decided to publish direction to all private schools affiliated with all boards, to reduce costs by 15 percent during the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
Minister of Education Varsha Gaikwad, after attending the State Cabinet meeting, giving media direction, “The State Cabinet decided to issue a notification of 15 percent reduction in school fees that will apply in all educational boards and notifications will be issued in the next two days.” He added that the decision will be enforced for the current academic year 2021-22.
He added that the decision was taken based on the order of the Supreme Court (SC) in the Rajasthan case.
In May the first week, in its decision in the issue of Rajasthan, SC asked private education institutions to reduce costs by 15 percent because their expenses had dropped with various facilities provided on the closed campus.
The court also directed the school not to sign students to attend online classes or physical classes because they did not pay fees, arrears or incredible costs.
The minister further said that parents who have not paid the fee will get a 15 percent discount while paying and the state will appear with clarification of parents who have paid fees.
He hopes that no school will try to increase costs by 15 percent because the order has been released last year, not to increase school fees.
He shows that it will be mandatory for all schools to follow the country’s direction and warn decisive action will be taken in the case of the school not following orders.
The Ministry of Education received many complaints over conflicts between private schools and parents in schools that charge for extracurricular activities such as the use of libraries, sports, and school bus facilities without providing facilities.
Meanwhile, a major committee, the Division Cost Arrangement Committee (DFRC), did not operate for more than a year and parents and schools clashed at the cost of a public representative, education officials and even justice.
SC last week came to the rescue of parents in the Maharashtra government directed by the state to consider May’s assessment to Rajasthan schools to collect 15% of reduction costs.
