Bhubaneswar: almost two years after the state government announced to establish Guruku Adarsh, the school for the children of the Jagannath temple in Puri, the temple government had planned to make the functional institute from the next academic year.
The new Temple Managing Committee was formed on Thursday decided to form a community of Gurukuk Adarsh Shree Mandir, who would manage Guruku Adarsh.
The Chair of the Managing Committee, Gajapati Dibyedha Deb, has been named as President of the Proposed Gurukul Society.
“We have identified 17 hectares of land in Matitota in Puri.

In a separate development, the Temple Managing Committee on Thursday placed a residential scheme proposed for poor waiters on the fast track.
“We have decided to provide a house of up to 400 poor waiter families in the first phase.
Housing schemes will be developed at eight hectares of land in Puri.
Every family will be given a plot of 600 square feet and RS 2 Lakh assistance towards building costs at first.
