Jammu: After being closed for months to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, various schools reopened on Mondays for grade 10 and 12 students in all hours in accordance with the new government guidelines, officials said.

According to the latest Covid detention guidelines issued by the State Executive Committee (SEC) Chair and Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta on Sunday night, the government allowed school to reopen for grade 10 and 12 to teach directly with certain conditions, including permission from the deputy commissioner related and strict compliance with Covid behavior.

Principal of High School of Shiksha Niketan, Rameshwar Mengi, said 20 percent of nearly 3,000 registered students in Grade 10 and 12 went to school on the first day.
“We have received approval from parents of 60 percent of students and hope that the presence of students will take in the coming days,” he told PTI.
However, he said the majority of 12th grade students were not vaccinated because they were only 17 years old.
“We raised this problem with the Deputy Commissioner of Jammu, which allowed us to recognize students for offline classes after 100 percent of RT-PCR tests,” he said.
He said only students who had a negative Covid-19 report were allowed to enter the school where the right filtering and hand sanitization.
“All classrooms have been disanitized and the right seating arrangements have been made in each class to maintain social distance,” he said.
Kunal Singh, a 10th grade student, said he was happy to return to school after a long gap.
“Online is not an alternative to offline classes.
We will try to take advantage of the opportunity to remove our doubts and prepare for the final exam,” Singh said.
Other students, Taaniya thanked the school administration to make the necessary arrangements to ensure student security.
“My parents are worried about my salvation but they will sigh of relief when I will warn them about a strict compliance of the behavior that matches Covid by management,” he said, expressing hope that they would resolve their syllabus without further breaks.

The SEC has also reaffirmed the coaching center for civil service or technique or NEET by teaching directly but only for staff and students who are fully vaccinated.
All other coaching centers, along with schools for the rest of the class, will continue to remain closed to teaching directly, the command word.
