School in k’taka open again, low presence but high spirits

Bengaluru: Schools reopen for physical classes in 25 out of 30 districts in Karnataka for grade 9 to 12 children on Monday after more than five months closure due to Covid-19.
While the presence is not too extraordinary in many schools, the mood is buoyant like students and teachers who return to campus do it in a lively atmosphere.
Schools are allowed to reopen only in districts with a test level of test less than 2%.
The official data provided in connection with the State Council School painted a gloomy image but the teacher of several schools visited placing attendance at 40-50%.
The overall presence for class 10 at the State Council school for offline classes was 16%, while for class 9 it was 13.8%.
For I and II Public Works, 36% respectively.
A more worrying data feature is that a large number of students attend online and offline classes.
How private school private schools are interrupted, while some who do not continue the class tend to do it next week.
Not all reported an exciting presence.
Manila Carvalho, Principal of DPS Bangalore East, said they opened physical classes for students in grade 11 and 12 to gloomy responses.
“Only 71 of 1,066 students attend physical classes.
From next Monday we plan to start physical classes for students in class 9 and 10,” he said.
Shashi Kumar D, Secretary General, Karnataka Management of the English Middle School Association (KAMS), told TOI that most private schools in the state have been opened and have an encouraging presence.
“In the 10th grade, the presence is around 85-90% while Grade 9 has 70-75%.
Some schools choose to reopen after a few days.
Some want to wait, other people plan to reopen next week,” he said, adding that much Private schools that open back have a great presence.
