Nashik: Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) and the district government have announced that all elementary schools to XII standards in the city and in Nashik’s countryside will be reopened from January 24.
All schools have been ordered to strictly adhere to the appropriate behavior for covid and keep tabs close to children’s health.
There are more than 5,000 schools throughout the district involving more than 12 lakh students from primary to class XII.
Commissioner NMC Kailas Jadhav told TOI that most patients in this city were without symptoms and symptomatic mild and recovered quickly.
“There is a request from schools and even parents, for school to reopen where the Covid case declined.
The schools were closed for almost two years.
Therefore, we have decided to allow the reopening of the school in the city,” he said.
Suraj District Collector Mandhare said that schools in Nashik’s countryside will also be reopened from January 24.
He said that the school had to follow all Covid safety protocols.
Educational officers (secondary) Zilla Parishad, Nashik, M v adm said that all preventive measures were being taken to reopen the school.
Schools will be permitted with a capacity of 50% and students will be called on alternative days or in two shifts subject to the presence of school students.
“Moreover, online education must also be given to students who do not attend physically,” added Kadam.
Nearly 3K new cases of 2,939 covid-19 new cases, including 1,875 from Nashik City, were reported in the district on Friday.
The district reported two Covid deaths, including one from the city of Nashik.
The Death Toll stands at 8,777 in the district, including 4,038 deaths in the city.
1,799 patients were sent back from all districts on Friday, including 1,542 recovery in the city of Nashik.
This district has 15,965 active cases, including 10,874 active cases in Nashik City.
