Nagpur: The Minister of State Education Varsha Gaikwad said the school resolution of the reopening government (GR) issued on August 10 was postponed and not withdrawn, as reported.
According to the gr., schools in urban areas (STD VIII-XII) and rural areas (STD V-VII) are to reopen from Tuesday, but many institutions are confused because there are no official orders coming from the authorities yet.
Speaking exclusively for Toi, Gaikwad said, “After we issued a GR, there were some concerns over the reopening and that this was why (gr) was postponed.
We haven’t canceled the GR altogether.
A final decision will be taken in a few days as the view of other stakeholders taken.
” Although Gaikwad did not mention it, there was a report that members of the Covid-19 troops were not too happy with the reopening school of gr.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that it is the intervention of the members causing the GR not to be carried out.
Gaikwad did not comment on this speculation, but said that he also expressed his concern for the delay in the implementation of this Gr.
“I spoke with the head of secretary (s kunte) today, who told me another meeting about this problem would be held immediately.
This meeting will involve the head of additional secretaries and other stakeholders, so we can expect immediate decisions.
I have told them to act quickly as already a few days have passed since we published GR, “said Gaikwad.
Even if the gr brought back into play, the final decision on the reopening of the school must be taken by the committee led by the Commissioner of the City.
Speaking to Toi the previous day, Head of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Radhakrishnan said the reopening school plan would be put into motion only with the correct procedure.
“We collected data from civilian officials and the Ministry of Education.
Based on that input, the call on the reopening will be taken, “said Radhakrishnan.
While in rural areas STD VIII-XII is open, the latest gr will open the way for STD V-VII also reopens in physical mode.
In city limits, schools are completely closed for physical classes.
Although the final decision on the reopening reoper, some schools have stated their opposition to start physical classes for non-covid-19 reasons.
Maharashtra Rajya Shikshan Sanstha Mahamandal (MRSSM), an association that represents the Trust / Society operating the school-in-aid school, has decided to keep the schools closed on pending issues.
Mrssm’s office Ravindra Fadniv said, “The government has not fulfilled our demands related to non-salary grants, non-teaching recovery and teaching recruitment.
In such conditions it is not possible for our school to operate.
” A principal without private aid said there was an official consensus between many schools he opened back physically must occur now.
“Every school will receive your own phone after seeing how many parents are willing to send their children, but many of us feel that at least for STD X and XII, the class must begin now,” said the principal.
