PANAJI: Chairman of the Minister of Pramod Sawant said on Monday that the State Committee had begun to work to create more goa-centric school syllabus and focus on student career orientation.
At an event to mark the Teacher’s Day, Sawant said that many new courses were set to be offered at higher secondary and college level since the beginning of next year, which could offer vertical mobility to Goani students to pursue higher education.
“I held two recent meetings with educational officials, and I was mainly stressed on two things: that we must focus on career-oriented education, and have a state-centered syllabus,” he said.
“Already, a committee has been formed to work on syllabus.
The courses taught from primary to the college level must offer vertical mobility of students.
Our department has begun to think about these lines.” Sawant suggested that the subjects offered at the school level must offer The potential to be pursued at the higher education level.
He also said that the implementation of new national education policies will be taken from the next academic year.
“There may be delays because of a pandemic, but next year, we are preparing to implement new education policies in a large way.
The Committee on School Education and Higher Education has submitted their reports and we will provide additional workers needed to implement their recommendations,” He said, overcoming teachers after maintaining ten of the award-winning of the state teacher.
CM says that especially in rural areas, students cannot accept the necessary career guides and that the teacher needs to enter.
“Only a teacher can offer the best career counseling.
I have seen that there is still a lack of career guidelines, especially in the village.
The teacher must regard him as their responsibility to provide career guidance to a student.
Not only those who are able to become doctors, lawyers or Engineers who have to get career guidance, even a student who fails class X must get career guidance, “Sawant said.
He said that today, various skilled programs are available even for a student who has cleared class VIII under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushalya Yojana.
Sawant also said that the recruitment of new teachers has been accelerated.
“There may be some delays, but we have quickly tracked the process for assisted schools and the government.
We have also tracked promotions with existing teachers.
We will try to complete this process earlier,” Sawant said.
Sawant said that some difficulties were experienced in doing and accessing online classes in Goa, but the teachers had gone out of their way, with several houses of students to teach in rural areas without connectivity.
