Ahmedabad: Schools in the state will be reopened for grade 6 to 8 students in Gujarat on Thursday, amid worries of parents about the third wave of Covid cases.
More than 30,000 government and private schools will continue teaching directly throughout the state, including more than 32 Lakh students.
The state government has announced the date of the return of classroom teaching, so that the future of students is not harmed.
Protocol and strict guidelines are in place to protect them from Covid-19.
The school must maintain adequate hand washing facilities and cleansers in their place in addition to complying with the other Covid-19 guidelines issued by the government.
According to state government regulations to reopen schools and colleges in the state, written approval must be provided by parents to school authorities to send their children to school.
Not compulsory and online classes will be continued.
Teaching for grade 6 to 8 will be carried out at a capacity of 50 percent.
The right distance in the classroom must be maintained and the teacher, staff and students must wear a mask.
Many schools in the state are expected to remain closed.
“In Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, many schools have not reached parents to tell them about the reopening.
This shows that these schools do not plan to reopen every time,” said parents based in Gandhinagar, whose children were in grade 8.
With the number of Covid-19 cases left low in the state, schools and colleges opened in July in staggering ways.
Schools are currently allowed to teach directly for grade 9 to 12 with 50% student presence.
The state government recently decided to test RT-PCR in schools and colleges as well.
The State Health Department has taken the confined ‘treatment-track-track-track’ approach, to ensure that someone infected with Covid-19 is detected at the initial stage and gets timely maintenance.
Without vaccines available for school children, their health monitoring at school is the main concern.
