Coimbatore: District administration has announced a vacation for school on Thursday, because the Meteorology Department has predicted heavy rain for that day.
The G SS SSEANAN District collector said the holiday was announced only for schools, and the college would function as usual.
The teacher’s school also did not need to go to school that day, he said.
Sameran said they had established a war room in the Collectorate District and it would function all the time to overcome the problem related to rain.
The collector said they had identified 21 vulnerable places that needed attention, if heavy rains fell to the district.
“We have established contact with the people there and sending a ration in advance.
We have also identified and mobilized the first 1,858 respondents to act quickly, if the situation calls for rescue steps.” Dr.
Darez Ahamed, Monitoring Officer for the district, said the administration was ready to face any possibility.
“Emergency contact numbers have been set for people to contact any assistance.
