Schools, college rooms can be used for parking

Overcoming the Rushhludhiana Festival: visitors to the city market may be allowed to park their vehicles in the nearest school and college courses and many of these festival seasons.
“We arrange meetings with school authorities.
Our priority is to involve government schools and colleges for this.
If not exercising with government institutions, we will approach private centers,” said Commissioner with Police (City & Traffic) Deepak Pareks.
After the meeting between the former Police Commissioner Naunihal Singh and the Municipal Corporation (MC) and the authority of the larger Ludhiana area (GLADA), at least 10 temporary parking sites were completed in the city.
However, besides this, more parking spaces are needed near the market.
Pareak said, “Traffic chaos is one of Ludhiana’s biggest problems.
Now when the festival season is on the corner, residents will come out and visit the market.
To avoid traffic congestion, a few steps are being taken.” There is no parking lot in and around Some markets are the main problem.
“Some markets, such as Ghumar Bath, do not have a designated parking space and, people avoid visiting them and also lead to business loss.
So, we approach schools and colleges in these fields to use their space for parking vehicles after Working hours.
People can park their vehicles in these schools and colleges and from there, rent cycles or autorickshaws to go to the market, “he added.
The new parking arrangement has been made in Gladada’s empty land.
Work has begun on several sites such as vacant land opposite the Mini Secretariat and the Lama Session Court Chowk.
“All of these sites will be paid parking,” he said.
