Guwahati: Government and private schools with around 100 to 200 students will be converted into covid vaccination centers for children in Assam because the state health department prepares to vaccinate children between the ages of 15 and 18 years from January 3.

Assam has set the estimated target of analyzing 18.25 lakh kids even though it might need a few days before the vaccination drive gets momentum.

The health department official said more than 13 doses of Lakh Covaxin were in stock in the state.
“Even though the available doses are mainly purchased for adult vaccination, most of it must now be transferred to vaccinating children.
Covaxin supply must also be added,” said the official.
Some schools temporarily included in detention in November after Covid infection was detected.
