Schools opened back under the lens in Punjab

Amritsar: The decision of the Punjab government to reopen the school from July 26 for students from class X to XII has received criticism from schools and parents in the Amritsar district.
They said it was a little earlier for the government to open school and at least have to wait for the third wave of Covid-19 anticipated.
So far, only 20-25% of parents have given their agreement to send children to school.
While it is mandatory for school staff to be fully vaccinated before coming to school, there are no such conditions for students.
School management can ensure that their staff is fully vaccinated, but the same thing is not possible in the case of students because all students from class 10 to 12 are not over 18 years.
Vaccination of minors has not started in India.
Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Senior Principal Spring Dale, said based on their previous year’s experience, they will follow all guidelines and sops, and ensure appropriate behavior among staff and students.
However, most of the school management views that it was a little earlier to reopen the school.
“The government should wait for the third wave.
If it cannot be avoided, the opening of the school can be delayed,” said the chairman of the private school who did not want to give his name.
Surgeon civil amritsar Dr.
Chararjit Singh said only 37% of the population above 18 years had been vaccinated in the district so far.
“Why do you emphasize vaccination of students under 18 years before going to school, there are lasts from those who roam without vaccination,” said a source at the Ministry of Health.
