Kolhapur: Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) has suggested all small schools and those who have a low student count to start the physical class (offline) with a capacity of 100%.
For schools that have multiple divisions for each class, physical classes can be held with a capacity of 50%.
The decision has relieved for schools and parents.
Many small town-based schools have a capacity of 20-25 students in each class.
DC Kumbhar, KMC school administrator, said, “The authority to allow schools to continue the physical class is given to the Master and Parents Committee.
Parents want to send their children to offline classes every day, but according to previous advisors, only half of students which is permitted for physical class.
Parents of students who study in small schools have asked us to let open schools with a 100% capacity.
“District education administration is considering allowing schools and junior colleges to hold physical classes for students from class X to XII.
Parents are worried about the possibility of the remaining syllabus incomplete because of online teaching modes, but the authorities will monitor carefully the progress of the syllabus and want 100% syllabus completed a week before the board exam.
Schools will be allowed to hold additional classes even if it means classes for lower standards must be limited to ensure most students of class X and XII sit for physical classes.
