New Delhi: Construction, construction and mining makers, Schwing Stetter India on Monday said he aims to train more than 10,000 people in India for the next 4 years through the operator’s skills training program.
The company, which launched the first training program at the Global Manufacturing Hub in Cheyyar in Tamil Nadu, offered a one-month wide course accredited by IESC (Infrastructure Equipment Skills Council), affiliated with the NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation).

“The company has taken a commitment to the skills and trains 10,000 men and women in the nearest district to get them can be employed.
With a pandemic industry hitting hard, it is very important for individuals who are equipped with current expertise to remain relevant in the industry,” he said.
This exclusive training program will empower individuals in the right way to approach heavy machinery and become a very skilled operator, the company said.
Commenting on the launch of the Training Program, Schwing Stetter India Director VG Sakthikumar said that for the past 20 years the company had managed to train nearly 14,000 individuals plus in handling concreting machines.
“At our new facility, our focus has provided modern training and empowers locals in Cheyyar and the nearest district.
We have the intention to start this training initiative immediately after the inauguration in February 2021, but the pandemic proved spoiler,” he added.
Saktikumar further said, “Our goal is to train 10,000 ambitious people, which is certainly possible for years.
Considering how severe Pandemi has been about us, a career that provides an opportunity for sustainable income is a grace for students.”
In addition, he said Schwing considers this as a responsibility to train very skilled men and women to operate heavy and sophisticated equipment throughout the construction industry.
While the first collection of students includes 53 men, the company said the plan to include women also in their upcoming program and worked to create the first female environment in the global manufacturing hub which was inaugurated in February this year.
“In the future, Schwing Stetter India has a plan to also design short-term RPL (previous learning recognition) approved by NSDC, courses that will help operators and mechanics that have previous work experience in this industry but without formal certification.
This RPL program will be Train, assess, and certify the candidate, “he added.
Integrated Schwing Stetter Indian facilities are spread in 52 hectares and will produce concrete boom pumps, stationary pumps, independent loading mixers, shotcrete pumps, excavators, wheel loaders, and motor graders.
It also accommodates the center of excellence to train individuals in concrete products.
