Pune: City-based scooter riders think he can avoid actions for traffic violations by just deleting a letter from the registration number plate of his vehicle to avoid being caught by CCTV supervision.
But what he did not bargain was the traffic police in charge of stopping him for the wrong number plate.
The police stopped the man at Gotiram Bhaiyya Chowk in Shivaji Road at around 6 pm on Tuesday.
After he avoided them, they investigated his record and explored a violation he had done.
Khadak police have since posted it for violations under Section 420 (cheating) from the Indian Criminal Code (IPC), after complaints by Constable Dheeraj Shelan.
