Ranchi: With the school waiting for the government nod to reopen class I to VIII, the Ministry of Health has asked all districts to ensure complete vaccination of all staff of the Education Institute before Teacher’s Day.
The command in this case was issued by the National Health Mission Mission Mission Director, Uma Shankar Singh, asked all Deputy Commissioners to ensure the implementation of the micro plan in coordination with civil surgeons and district education officers.
According to Singh’s order, the special Covid-19 vaccination drive must be carried out between August 27 and September 4 which includes all teaching and non-teaching staff of all private schools and state governments.
District Education Officers (DEO) and Education District Supervisors (DSE) have been directed to give a list of all teaching staff who meet the requirements and non-teaching all schools to a civil surgeon for vaccination.
Speaking with Toi, State Nodal Officer for vaccination, Dr.
Rakesh Dayal, said, “This is done on priority for people engaged in the education sector so that we can announce they are vaccinated before the teacher’s day celebration in September.
It will also help in building Trust among students and parents because our school will be announced as a vaccinated zone.
“Dayal said they monitor drives on daily and civil surgeons ensure that everyone who meets the requirements of vaccinated in front of the target.
The Ministry of Health’s order has come after the State Department of Education, which is awaiting the nod of the state government to open junior schools has also requested additional (health) secretary for vaccination encouragement on priority.
Educational Secretary Rajesh Kumar Sharma said the priority was to fully analyzed more than 1.6 lakh teaching and non-teaching staff employed in government schools.
Apart from that, all private schools have also been informed to get their inoculated staff by contacting Deos and DES respectively.
