Thiruvananthapuram: City Smart Thiruvananthapuram Limited (SCTL) on Wednesday invites expressions of fresh interest (EOI) to implement electro-mechanical parking projects in the public office complex.
This step has been facilitated after the National Highway and the Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIIDCL) retreat from the project.
Meanwhile, SCTL has started a parking project in Pallayam and Thampanoor.
The project in the public office is the fourth parking scheme that will be implemented under the City City project.
SCTL was originally communicated by NHIDCL about the proposal having a three-story facility with a capacity of 120 cars.
Detailed project reports have never been delivered, and NHIDCL then states the willingness to withdraw from the project forces SCTL to undergo a new round of the tender process.
While the 120 car facility in the tower model by NHIDCL, SCTL plans to explore various options before going for tenders.
Consider decent models such as puzzle parking, tower parking, shuttle and other robotic systems for the site.
Those who have proven credentials in the development of electro mechanical car parking systems, especially in limited land areas are being considered for the project.
The proposed site is in front of the Office of the Superintendent PWD (road & bridge) engineer side by side with the Bakery Junction Road.
The total area available for this project is 540 sq.
MT.
The main obstacle in this field is the need for NOC from the airport authority.
SCTL has been mentioned in EOI that the height of the building should not exceed the maximum height which is permitted as determined by the Indian airport authority.
Maximum car parking capacity, minimum car retrieval time, maximum life cycle for parking assets and minimum cost for operation and system maintenance is another expected feature.
SCTL will be able to process tenders only after getting an overview of the maximum number of cars that can be accommodated on this site, the platform load, and tentative costs for the proposed solution, smart parking management system, estimated revenue and power consumption.
Multi-level car parking facilities in the Thampanoor built under the City Smart project will have the capacity to accommodate 450 two-wheeled vehicles and 22 cars.
Basement of the Pallayam Market which is changed will have an electro-mechanical car parking system to accommodate around 280 cars.
SCTL has provided construction work parking system puzzle to robots and automation based in Pune Ltd.
This system will accommodate 568 car parking and around 300 bicycle parking slots.
The two parking systems will create a number of car parking spaces that are sufficient to address the needs of the entire Zone of Pallayam, including the Saphalyam complex and other commercial institutions along the MG road.
