Thiruvananthapuram: City Smart Thiruvananthapuram Limited (SCTL) has begun working at Manaveyam Veedi aims to change the way into a designated cultural path to promote various cultural activities.
In addition to making a new design pedestrian design, the road will have a covered place, statue, art gallery, garden, street library, gender friendly toilet, drinking water fountains, food stalls and parking area cycles.
The design was approved by the SCTL board in 2019 after stakeholder consultation with the government department and art groups.
The design involves dividing road roads into two ways in which half will be intended for cultural activities, and the other half will be used as a 7.5 m wide road that will be open to traffic.
In the first phase, the underground utility channel will be built to deliver the overhead utility cable on this channel.
Smart Road Works have been going on at 10 Corporate Roads covering a distance of two km.
On Jalan PWD, work has begun at Manaveyam Road and Stretch near Bakery Junction.
This project includes features such as pathways, safe lines, intersection increases, storm waterways, utility channels and underground channels for electrical channels, KWA and communication.
In addition to landscaping, streetscaping, providing smart road furniture, creating and developing basic comfort along the way is also included in the scope of work.
It also includes the development and renovation of existing storm water drainage systems.
The project includes 36.94 km of smart street, including 7.40 km of white topping surface (KRFB & PWD) in the development of Thiruvananthapuram (ABD) area.
About 21 roads under KRFB measuring 15 km, 37 stretches under PWD measuring 20.4 km and three roads under PWD-NH will be developed as a smart road.
