New Delhi: Taking strict action on vehicle owners across the entry point without paying tolls through the RFID system or not getting it relied properly, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) issued a notification to 672 vehicles last week.
It has issued Challans to more than 100 of them in the last two days.
The concession holder employed to collect a toll tax in 124 plazas only through the RFID system was also slapped with a fine of RS 10 Lakh for violating the norm and proceeding to collect taxes in cash.
“We have imposed a fine at the holder of concession for non-compliance with orders issued by the Supreme Court,” said South Korporan officials.
All notifications 672 are given to the vehicle owner in place in the hard copy.
SMS is also forwarded to registered mobile numbers of 572 vehicle owners, warning them to face strict action if continued.

SDMC has implemented a RFID system to the Supreme Court order to collect Toll Tax and Cess environment compensation from certain commercial vehicles when entering the national capital.
After repeated warnings to get RFID tags issued and make it refilled correctly, the toll road tax department stopped the entry of the specified commercial vehicle did not follow the norm on August 31.
